General

Dr. Dόnal Cahill received his medical degree from the University of Limerick, Republic of Ireland, in 2013. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology and Rehabilitation. Before undertaking his Internship and Basic Specialist Training in Medicine at the University Hospital Limerick, Dόnal treated patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries in Ireland, America and Scotland. He worked as a Radiology Specialist Registrar at Cork University Hospital before graduating as a Fellow of the Faculty of Radiologists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFR RCSI). 

Dr. Cahill has an interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, including acute hip and knee pathology in adults as well as functional imaging following Pancreatic Islet Cell transplantation. Donal is a member of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), The Asian Musculoskeletal Society and the American Roentgen Ray Society. 

Teaching Profile

Dr. Cahill has been involved in Radiology curriculum teaching for fourth and final year medical students at Cork University Hospital / Mercy University Hospital, Cork, Ireland. He has also delivered small group, post graduate radiology resident teaching. Current teaching profile includes preparation of Musculoskeletal undergraduate lectures (CUHK 4th and 6th year medical students). In addition, Dόnal is actively involved in preparing online lectures and flipped classroom tutorials for 2nd year CUHK medical students in neurology and musculoskeletal medicine.

Research Profile

Dr. Cahill’s research interests include radiation dose optimization, acute hip pathology in adults and functional imaging following Pancreatic Islet Cell transplantation.
