Radiology Seminar Highlights Radiation Safety and Clinical Best Practices

The Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology successfully hosted a Radiology Seminar on 12 May 2026, titled “Radiation Safety & Protection Concepts and What to Do in Case of High Fluoroscopic Exposure.” The session was delivered by Mr Lorie Marchinkow, Senior Radiographer from Surrey Hospital (Fraser Health Authority), and attracted over 120 participants through a combination of in-person and online attendance.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for students, radiographers, and clinical staff to deepen their understanding of radiation safety in modern imaging practice. Drawing on nearly four decades of professional experience, Mr Marchinkow shared practical insights from both general radiography and interventional radiology, emphasizing real-world application of safety principles.

The Department extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Marchinkow for his insightful presentation and to all participants for contributing to the success of this educational event.
