Professor Ann King Receives Prestigious International and Local Awards and Serves on Global Expert Panels

We are delighted to announce that Professor Ann King has been honored with a major international and local award and appointed to several influential global panels.

On 23 November 2024, Professor King received the Distinguished Contribution Award from the Hong Kong College of Radiologists. This award recognizes her exceptional achievements in the science and practice of radiology and her tremendous contributions to the College and the profession.

Further highlighting her global impact, on 12 September 2025, Professor King was awarded the Gold Medal Lifetime Achievement Award by the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ESHNR). This prestigious honor celebrates her great commitment to serving the Society and her outstanding contributions to advancing knowledge and research in head and neck radiology.

Professor King’s expertise extends beyond clinical practice and research. She plays a pivotal role in shaping international standards through her participation in key global panels:

  • Panel Member, AJCC 9th version — Staging of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
  • Member, Head and Neck Cancer International Group — Consensus Recommendations on Classifying Extranodal Extension by Imaging
  • Member, Joint Task Force of Radiologists (ASHNR, ESNR, AOSNHNR) — Imaging Extranodal Extension
  • Member of the expert panel charged with developing a joint Chinese Society for Therapeutic Radiology Oncology (CSTRO), CACA, CSCO, and American Society for Therapeutic Radiology Oncology (ASTRO) guideline on the delineation of radiotherapy target volume for NPC 2023

Her contributions to these panels help define best practices and improve patient care worldwide.
